National Compliance and Regulatory Authority
The services of the National Compliance and Regulatory Authority can be divided into three (3) inspectorates:
Import and Domestic Commodities Inspectorate conduct work at all the major ports of entry in Kingston and Montego Bay and throughout retail outlets within the domestic space in Jamaica.
Legal Metrology and Petroleum Inspectorate goes to the heart of consumer demand for fairness in trade. In achieving a fair deal for all concerned, our inspectors are focused on achieving compliance by protecting the buyer’s interest whilst safeguarding the integrity of the seller.
Food Safety Inspectorate engages in verification of labels, product sampling and the approval of conforming products.
